What will it cost?
Treatment and prescriptions
The Out Of Hours service is provided under the NHS which means it is free. Normal prescription charges will apply.
Telephone calls
Calls won't cost you any more than a local rate call, or if you have an inclusive minutes package the call will be free, even from a mobile.
Who will I speak to?
You will be contacting Nenedoc's Out Of Hours service. You will talk to a locally-based and qualified call handler who will ask some questions about the health problem or minor injury you want help with.
What happens next?
You may either:
Be given health care advice over the phone by a professional nurse or doctor on how you can self-treat your condition. If necessary you will be given a prescription or other medication advice as appropriate.
Be given a time to drop into one of our five centres across the county that provide cover through the night and at weekends.
Have a home visit arranged from one of our locally based doctors or nurses if you are medically unable to travel.
Be advised to attend the A&E department (Casualty) of a local hospital or in extreme cases ring 999.
Be reassured that the problem can be left for your own GP to deal with in normal hours.
